Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. For a child from Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and a loving family, those were not innate traits. Maureen was welcomed into this cherished refuge within Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland. He also owned a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons' was the second FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was a runner who was a star as a child. She was a lover of in athletic, rough sports. This natural interest and her talent to perform was impressive. In the end, she received almost all of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances in her home country. Her acceptance at the Abbey Theater by age 14, and she pursued her dreams of operatic and classical music and theatre.
